Inside the award show, Bebe Rexha, Imagine Dragons, GloRilla and Cardi B, Carrie Underwood and Pink were among the performers who took to the stage, while Richie, Puth and Stevie Wonder joined forces for a medley of Richie’s greatest hits....

On the airwaves, the emerging verdict about Bill Clinton’s $700 billion economic plan is pretty clear: people want action on the deficit, but his plan has too many taxes and not enough spending cuts. “People are ready to sacrifice,” says Lionel Kunst, a Kansas City, Kans., carpet manufacturer, talk-show gadfly and early Ross Perot supporter. “Don’t they know that in Washington?” Well, yes they do. The national squawking for sacrifice produced a scene last week that was, for Congress, truly amazing: Democratic leaders demanding to vote on a plan for spending cuts before enacting a $30 billion stimulus package....

The latest polling data from Morning Consult, last updated on Tuesday, showed Trump with just 42 percent support in Wisconsin, while Biden was backed by 52 percent of the state’s voters. That marked a slight decline for Trump from a survey Morning Consult carried out from August 21 to 30, when the president was backed by 43 percent of Wisconsin voters, compared with Biden’s 52 percent. On Thursday, Biden will hold a community meeting in Kenosha, which has been rocked by protests and riots in the wake of the August 23 shooting of Jacob Blake in the city....

According to an anonymous poll of the 10 Big 12 coaches conducted by ESPN, Houston and BYU are the leading schools the conference would like to add. Each coach was asked to provide his top two choices: Houston and BYU received five votes apiece. It has been a fantastic season for Baylor (21-1, 13-1), which, despite enjoying a string of successful seasons under coach Scott Drew, had never earned the distinction it has heading into this week’s tournament. The Bears secured their first Big 12 title with a March 2 overtime win over West Virginia. It is their first conference title overall since 1950, when they were still a member of the Southwest Conference....

In addition, United Front Games has announced via the Playstation Blog that they will directly address the game’s most other glaring issue: the punishingly difficult AI in the single player game, via a “casual” difficulty mode. That stands to reason -- the top two players in college basketball are the Jayhawks' Andrew Wiggins and the Cowboys' Marcus Smart. And both players are likely NBA-bound after this season. This past June, Sony announced many of the games that will come out in 2021 at its Future of Gaming event. Since then, many exclusives have gone without announcements and there are several that still don’t have release dates. However, Sony seems confident about its release schedule and so far, no major delays have been announced. Assuming nothing gets delayed into 2022, this year will be filled with promising PlayStation exclusives that take full advantage of the PS5’s improved hardware and the unique capabilities of the DualSense controller....

Michigan State is the defending Big Ten champion, a conference that produced an amazing six teams with 10 or more wins last season. Michigan and Ohio State will be right back in the mix in the Big Ten East, and Iowa, Wisconsin and Northwestern will battle it out in a wide-open Big Ten West Division.
