Information is currently sparse, as the embargo is said to end tomorrow, but the fact that this game exists and is on it’s way fills my heart with joy. There is nothing in this world I enjoy more than a well-executed, expertly-crafted classic game remake; they don’t come much better than Bionic Commando: Rearmed.  If you haven’t sampled BC:R, you owe it to yourself to give it a try.

It’s a fair assumption that Bionic Commando: Rearmed 2 will feature all new content.  The original was an enhanced remake of the 1988 Nintendo Entertainment System release, but it’s not likely this will be an even newer version of the same content.  Additionally, you can expect the game to appear on both XBLA and PSN.  The last game was also available on PC, but that market is a little harder to predict, so we shall have to wait and see.

Another thing you can count on is that this iteration is being made by a different development house to that of the original.  The original game’s developer, Grin, closed down last year due to poor sales of the disappointing full-price retail game, Bionic Commando. So it’s unlikely there will be any involvement by previous creators.
